Shopping Help

Here's a gift idea that's sure to please. For a mere $175, the Orvis catalogue offers these corduroy pants, presumably for the guy who has way too much money and way too little class or sense of self-preservation. And if any of you reading this own these things, my condolences. The Mountain Man said if they were $10 he would get them for the office Christmas party to play the goofy boss. But if you're spending $175, you obviously think it's a serious purchase. I do have socks with candy canes, but they were about $3.

This catalogue is actually quite entertaining. Scott said it is obviously marketed to people who want to spend a lot of money and can't think of anything. There's also a tool set - hammer, pliers, and wrench, with leather-wrapped handles for $59. The old-fashioned wooden carrying case (looks like one of those old milk bottle crates) is $195. Quite the profit margin on that one.

I never understand Christmas jewelry, sweaters, etc. You can wear them for just about 2 weeks a year.
